Up for sale is the first brand new Mayfield guitalin to ever be publicly listed for sale. All previous guitalins dating back to 1962 were kept by the family, given to friends, or sold privately by Lyle Mayfield or by his grandson, Nathan Smith. Nathan has provided his own modern guitalins to such esteemed artists as Sufjan Stevens and Christian Lee Hutson. The 2024 batch of guitalins is unique in that they are the first re-issued Original Design guitalins ever produced, modeled after the earliest 1960s guitalins, while being upgraded for high structural integrity. • Tailblock: Dallas, Texas White Oak from Oak Cliff (1920s)
• Bridge: Katalox (Mexican Ebony)

Other Specs -

• Title: "Egyptian Ruby" - The standard size Original Design Series guitalins (ODE series) are named using the corresponding Strong's Concordance numbers for both Hebrew and Greek. In the case of Number 124, this resulted in Greek "Αἰγύπτιος (Aiguptios)" and Hebrew "אֹדֶם (odem)", or "The Egyptian Ruby".
